Seat belts no small matter in weight-loss tale
It looks like my longtime battle with seat belts may be over.
After having gastric bypass surgery in mid-December, I have finally lost enough weight to buckle into every car I’ve ridden in (at least so far).
Yes, that’s a bit embarrassing to admit, and may seem slight to folks whose frames are slight.
But for me, this is a cause for celebration. Most people don’t fear being offered a ride in a sports car. One dear friend has always had to remember to pick me up in her minivan — not the VW bug.
Of course I have always fit in most bigger vehicles. But I still often felt like a piece of lumber strapped tightly in place for the ride to the mill.
There are countless wonders to losing weight, some less glamorous than others.
Stay tuned for my upcoming battles with restaurant booths and airplane seats.
