Patching roadway won't do the job

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Here we go again - the city of Yuma is wasting our tax money by just patching the potholes on Avenue 3E which will be in the same condition a year or so down the road.

The patching material will not stick to the old blacktop properly and they will not be able to get it smooth so it will be like driving over a washboard.

In my 67 years I have seen this tried in many different cities with the same results. What the city needs to do is to resurface the whole street not just patch it.

And 3E also needs to be expanded to four lanes all the way across the railroad bridge as that street is a nightmare at times with traffic backed up from I-8 to 32nd Street.

Plus, get rid of those junk yards which are springing up along it. After all, it is one of the main routes into Yuma and look what we see (junk yards).
