Collapse follows loss of morality
A recent study by the Barna Group found that almost 60 percent of Christian young people aged 15 to 29 have distanced themselves from active involvement in church, according to CBN News.
David Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group, says a few reasons behind the mass exodus include young people finding churches “shallow,” feeling that God is missing from services, and feeling that church is not a safe place to express doubts.
He added that in many cases, churches have failed to equip young people to live “in but not of” the world. “(Young people) tell us that ... Christianity has become so hip, so watered-down, so about entertainment — and they’re looking for something of more substance.”
According to a recent report released by the health department, the abortion rate in New York City is more than double the national average. Statistics show that 40 percent of all pregnancies in the city end in abortion, the highest rate in the United States. More than 83,000 abortions were performed in 2010, down 1 percent from 2009. The report showed that the abortion rate was highest in the African-American community, with 60 percent of all pregnancies ending in abortion, and that pregnant teenagers had abortions 63 percent of the time.
Kind of pathetic isn’t it? Is there any doubt in your mind that we here in America are not only on the verge of financial bankruptcy, but moral bankruptcy as well? Those in the Democrat, Republican and independent political camps are out of their minds if they think you can change this country and turn it around to common sense and civility even for moment.
As long as people harbor greed, lust after power, tolerate abhorrent behavior, idolatry and hedonism, murder the unborn and exhibit selfishness and hatred toward God and his fellow man, people are incapable of changing themselves into something moral and conscionable or doing the right things at all times. That is out of the hands of mortal men and only God can change the heart of man!
When a nation loses its moral compass, history has shown us that a collapse of that system or empire is not far behind. It is not fanaticism that draws me to believe that God will make the ultimate decisions as to the course that America will follow.
