Kindness from Yumans truly appreciated
On Dec. 20, my vehicle broke down in the fast lane near the airport. After ascertaining that it was truly dead, I got out to direct traffic around me. Very soon a young man and his wife and mother stopped to help. As one of those oldtimers that do not have a cell phone, I asked that a tow truck be called for, which he had his wife do.
A young Marine returning to base turned his Mustang around and the two pushed my car off the road into the airport entrance to await the tow truck. The young Marine waited until the tow truck arrived. I didn’t think I needed such extra support but didn’t want to complain. He was driving back to Oklahoma the next day to visit his family. I want to thank them both for their kindness and I find that there is a lot of that around Yuma.
I’m sure both of them found something extra in their sock from Santa this year.
