Beneficial results expected for Yuma
Reduced crime, violence, abortion, divorce and pre- and extra-marital sex in Yuma. Improved job opportunities, a better economy, education for our kids, justice, health and well-being in Yuma. Do these achievements sound like a bid for public office? No! We believe these will be just some of the beneficial results of something that took place at the Quartermaster Depot recently.
From Sunday, Oct. 17 through Sunday, Oct. 24, about 200 people read God's Word out audibly over our city and our area. The entire Bible was spoken out to our city in faith that God will honor His promise that His Word will not return to Him without accomplishing His purpose.
At the same time, specific prayer for our area was being offered. We prayed specifically and by name for all of our schools, for our elected officials, for our churches and their pastors, and for our judges at all levels. We prayed for our own personal relationships with God and for repentance and wholeness in the churches, for an end to joblessness and homelessness, and for virtually every aspect of life in Yuma. There was not one gathering of 200 people meeting to do this. It was generally teams of two people at a time: one quietly reading the Bible, the other praying. People participated from 30 churches and Christian ministries, including classes from Yuma Catholic High School and Yuma Adventist Christian School.
People even came from Somerton and from San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico, to participate!
“So what?” you might ask. We are writing this so that people will keep an eye on the statistics and be astounded when God answers our prayers in such dramatic ways that there is no rational human explanation. We believe He will bring glory to Himself by blessing Yuma and we want to go on record about this before it becomes evident so that people will recognize it when it does and turn to Him.
