Thanks to those who helped with Christmas Village
The Yuma Visitors Bureau would like to thank all of the many groups and individuals who joined with us to make the 2012 Christmas Village at the Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park such a memorable holiday event for "kids" of all ages.
Our gratitude first to our sponsors and partners, including Ahern Rentals, Allied Waste Services, Arizona Western College, AWC Foundation, BLT Companies LLLP, Del Outdoor Advertising, Eckard Construction, El Dorado Broadcasters, Evans Concrete, Fisher Automotive Group, Foothills Bank, Paul Franco, Hilton Garden Inn, Humane Society of Yuma, KCFY 88.1, KYMA, Media Management, MGM Design, North End Graphics, One-Hour Air Conditioning and Heating, Rick Ploski, Quail Corp Inc., Reddy Rents, Regional Center for Border Health, Saguaro Foundation, SignPro, Sun Graphics, Time Warner Cable, Westmoor Electric Inc., Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority, Yuma County Library District, Yuma Crossing National Heritage Association, YumaMom.com, Yuma Pest and Termite, Yuma Photo, Yuma Regional Medical Center, Yuma Sun and Z93/Outlaw Country.
Also, most sincere thanks to our volunteers, including APS, Cibola Interact, Clowns of Yuma, Brendan Flynn, Dick and Colleen Foland, Gila Ridge JV and Varsity Cheerleaders, Gowan Co., Don and Carolyn Holloway, Lara Kitain, Kofa AVID, Kofa Key Club, NAU/AWC Rotaract, Chris Tennant, Yuma High School and Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Last but not least, a round of applause and many thanks to our restaurant partners who made the new Taste of Yuma Sweets and Treats event such a welcome addition to the holiday menu: Back in Time Pie Shoppe, Burgers & Beer, Catering by Design, Chocolate Crafters, Ciao Bella, The Garden Café, "Heidrich Nog" (Shangri La RV Resort), Hilton Garden Inn’s Great American Grill, Main Street Café, Market Wine Bar Bistro, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, The Pint House Bar and Grill, River City Grill, Romer Beverage of Yuma, Yuma’s Main Squeeze and Z Fun Factory.
We hope Yumans will continue to support the Christmas Village in its new "forever home" at Z Fun Factory and Waylon’s Water World. Because Brice and Becky Zeller have the room and the infrastructure to nurture and grow this event for Yuma families and out-of-town visitors, we were happy to hand over the signature Christmas Village buildings originally designed and built for us by Bobby Lemmon of Tom Lemmon Drywall, Inc.
It is our sincere hope that YVB served as a kind of incubator for a fun, family-friendly event that this private-sector business can now expand and take to the next level, and we thank the entire community for its support of the Christmas Village in its first three years.
