Fundraising efforts greatly appreciated
The Palms RV Resort is a superior representation of people who care in our community. They have supported the Golden Eagle Musicians efforts to raise money for a cemetery and assisted living home for our veterans in Yuma County. We thank Al Brockley and his staff for all the hard work they provided to make our jamboree a success.
To all the 150 musicians who each gave an outstanding, professional performance by entertaining our faithful audience with a wide variety of music.
We wish to thank David Castro for bringing his great mariachi band from the Gadsden School District to perform during our intermission. These young people are a credit to their parents, teachers and school. What a great performance they did. We went to San Luis to attend their concert at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center to a packed house. A program we would highly recommend to all. On Feb. 22, our local accordion band performed with great music for the audience to dance to.
Also thanks to chaplain's Major Bradshaw from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma and Major Huntsel from Yuma Proving Ground, American Legion Posts 19 and 56, VFW Post 1763 and 6790, AmVets Post 2 and Capt. Staci Redinger, director of public affairs from the base.
To all the businesses who donated prizes for our raffles, KBLU's Kelly Ray for the great interviews, Vanessa Herrera of Channel 9 for her great interview at our program on Feb. 21, the Golden Roadrunners for donating their ballroom for a benefit dance by our talented Golden Eagles Dance Band and to Paul and Ruth Bourgeault for their many years of filming our benefits.
From all the great performers and hard workers, we were able to raise over $4,000 with more money still coming in.
