Heavy truck traffic moves along on the Avenue 3E Bridge Monday afternoon while work to widen the structure over the Union Pacific raiload tracks proceeds. A contractor working for the Arizona Department of Transportation is improving and widening the bridge located between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street. The project is a cooperative effort between ADOT and the city of Yuma and is scheduled for completion in summer 2013. It includes widening the bridge over the railroad tracks from two to six lanes with a center median, new pavement and pedestrian walkways.
