Ronald Reagan Elementary School celebrated the start of Christmas break with snowball fights and sledding. Principal Tom Fletcher said the school had 20 tons of snow delivered by CV Ice out of Holtville, Calif. Friday morning.
"We just let them play in the snow, let them experience snow," said Fletcher. "Some of them had never seen snow. Some of them asked if it would hurt them, if it was sharp." The snow was piled on top of hay bales to create an impromptu sledding run on the playground, on which the students rode inner tubes, saucers and other devices.
