River on the rise

Many areas inside of Gateway Park along the banks of the Colorado River that are normally dry are now under water due in part to the recent rains and an increase of water flow from the Imperial Dam.
Rich Ireland and Gordon McLaren set out to kayak from Gateway Park to West Wetlands in the Colorado River on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. The increase of water flow from the Imperial Dam along with the recent rains has caused areas along the river to spread into Gateway Park.
