Marines and sailors at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma celebrated the 237th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps on Wednesday. The ceremony, held on the parade deck, featured a uniform pageant in which uniforms from 1775 to the present were worn, and the traditional cake-cutting ceremony, with the first piece of cake being given to the oldest Marine and the second piece to the youngest Marine. The official birthday is Nov. 10, but it was being celebrated early because it falls during Veterans Day weekend.
ROTC cadets from Kofa attended the festivites and met with MCAS staff.
