The 5A-I Girls State Soccer Tournament began on Feb. 3 with No. 8 San Luis hosting No. 9 Glendale-Mountain Ridge at The Snake Pit. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and remained a draw through the overtime sessions, sending the game into a penalty kick shootout. San Luis goalkeeper Carolyn Sosa saved two shots in the shootout, and the Sidewinders won 2-1 to advance into the second round.
