Practice makes for perfect as seven Customs and Border Protection officers and their canine partners were participating in a training exercise at Big Bob’s Flooring Outlet recently. Supervisory CBP Officer James McIntyre, who was in charge of the training, said the officers and their canines do a different exercise once a week in a different location to help the dogs participate in real-world situations and to help teach the handlers to trust the responses they get from the dogs. One of the canines involved in the training, named Sonny, is creditted with detecting $70,000 worth of cash recently.
