From Arizona to Washington D.C., across the country lawmakers opened their legislative sessions, observing a moment of silence in the wake of Saturday's shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson. In total, 19 people were shot outside a supermarket where Giffords set up a booth to hear the concerns of constituents. Six were killed, including a 9-year-old girl, an aide to Gifford, and a federal judge.
