Tacna's Mieke Canan posted three rounds in the 70s at the Girls Junior America's Cup earlier this week to help Team Arizona place ninth in the event and finishing in a tie for 39th place individually.

Arizona was 35-over par for the tournament in Logan, Utah, 28 shots back of Cup winner Southern California.

Canan shot a pair of 79s Tuesday and Wednesday before closing out with a 76 in the final round for a three-day total 21-over 234. Individual champion Emily Tubert of Southern California was at 1-under 212.

Seventy-two girls from across the western United States, Canada and Mexico competed in the event.
