AWC rolls at Scottsdale
Twenty-two straight points in the first half sealed the game early in Arizona Western's 73-65 win at Scottsdale College on Wednesday.
Lester Medford led the scoring for the Matadors (19-5 overall, 10-4 Arizona Community College Athletic Conference). The Artichokes went on a 24-4 run against the Matador bench but got no closer than seven.
“We talked about in the locker room just now about why the starters are the starters, and the bench players are the bench players, since tonight, we just couldn't get consistent play from our bench,” AWC head coach Charles Harral said. “We took this team a little too lightly, but I'm always happy with the win, even though we'll be working on a lot of things tomorrow at practice.”
