AWC 1-1 at Pima

Arizona Western's baseball team broke open an early lead to beat Pima 6-4 then came from behind to force extra innings but lost the second game 9-8.
Assistant coach Alan Manifold said the Matadors (28-24, 19-17 ACCAC) showed character with two good games after being eliminated from the playoffs.
"We broke out with four runs in the third inning (of the first game), that's something we've not done a lot of early in games," Manifold said.
