ON DECK: Cactus League Dynasty
I'll preface this column by saying spring training doesn't matter.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, the Seattle Mariners are pretty much an unstoppable February juggernaut.
The M's are riding a six-game winning streak and are currently a half-game out of first place in the race for the Cactus League Championship. They're basically wiping the desert floor with the faces of their opponents, including the World Champion San Francisco Giants.
And who's hanging out in the basement? The Los Angeles Josh Hamilton's of Anaheim are 0-5 and the Rangers are 1-5. Some teams just don't know how to win.
Seattle on the other hand, it's all they know how to do. Punishing home runs daily, no berm in the Phoenix-metro area is safe. They lead the Cactus League in home runs, and if that was verifiable, I'd verify it.
Now before you tell me that it's spring training and it doesn't matter, I'll just say this, you're right.
