Marcus Weeks and Parker Rodriguez each had 11 points and eight rebounds as Gila Ridge boys basketball team stymied Parker in the second half of a 47-38 win.
Kevin MuCullough had 14 points for the Hawks, who trailed 25-18 at halftime.
“We really stepped up on defense,” Gila Ridge coach Joe Daily said. “It helped us up big time. Our defense is what won the game.”

Cibola granted victory
A match between Gila Ridge and Cibola last week that was ruled a win for the Hawks has been reversed.
Both Gila Ridge athletic director Derek Bosch and Cibola athletic director Curtis Johnson confirmed that the Cibola team was declared the winner of the match.
The teams will meet again Wednesday at the city championship, hosted by the Raiders.
