ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Yuma Scorpions fell out of first place in a tightly packed South Division with a 2-1 10-inning loss to the St. George Roadrunners on Tuesday at Bruce Hurst Field in St. George.

With two runners aboard and one out in the bottom of the 10th, St. George's Eddie Gerevido, who hadn't hit the ball out of the infield in his previous four at-bats, singled in the winning run.

Trailing 1-0 and down to their last three outs, Yuma's Maikel Jova, Jose Rodriguez and Hector Bernal put together consecutive singles. Bernal's hit drove in Jova with the tying run.

Scorpions starter Mike Esposito worked eight innings, only allowing one run and four hits in the no-decision. St. George's Justin Abbott pitched eight scoreless before getting knocked out in the ninth after 130 pitches.

The first run of the game wasn't scored until the bottom of the sixth when Wiki Gonzalez scored on an RBI double by Seth Loman.
