ON DECK: Kicking trouble a problem for Wildcats
In their 24-17 overtime win over Toledo on Saturday, the Arizona Wildcats threw for nearly 200 more yards and rushed for 76 more yards than the Rockets.
But there are warning signs for trouble ahead. Usually it's a red flag when your senior kicker misses a 25-yard field goal that would have won the game — not to mention the 24-yard chip shot he missed earlier.
I've seen it happen a million times where a kicker missing an easy field goal costs a team an important conference game. Or if you're Boise State, a possible chance at playing in the National Championship.
With Oklahoma State coming into town this Saturday, the Wildcats have their hands full. While beating a cupcake like Savannah State isn't overly impressive, 84-0 is still 84-0.
To beat a Top 20 team, you need to take advantage of every opportunity you have — like chip shot field goals.
