Frabasilio, Russell-Cheung win Criminal Pentathlon

Yuma High's Myriah Frabasilio and Cibola's Andrew Russell-Cheung placed first in the Criminal Pentathlon Swimming Invitational at Marcus Pool Saturday.

The event was composed of the 100-yard backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, freestyle and 200-yard individual medley with the highest total time winning the event.

Frabasilio finished with a total time of 6 minutes, 37.28 seconds and Russell-Cheung finished at 6:12.23, eight seconds faster than Kofa's Jonathan Duran.

Duran took first place in the 100-back, 100-free and 100-fly, but Russell-Cheung made up for it in the breaststroke where Duran failed to place in the top three.

Frabasilio placed first in all five events and won the 200 IM by a six-second margin. Yuma High's Ashton Hobbs placed second in the pentathlon and finished in the top three for all five events. Hobbs finished the 100-breast at 1:13.90, less than a second behind Frabasilio.

Gila Ridge's Emily Reh finished second in the 100-free with a time of 58.26. Her combined 7:27.82 placed her sixth in the pentathlon.

Cibola's Jesse Kaba took third place in the pentathlon and third in the 100-breast. Her brother, Jacob, took second place in the 100-fly and 100-back. He finished with third in the pentathlon with a total time 6:35.89.

Kofa's Emily Hieber took fourth place overall with a total time of 7:23.86. Hieber placed second in the 100-fly touching at 1:08.31.
