Cibola drops first of four straight

The San Luis boys soccer team tied Tuesday's match with Cibola just before halftime and added the only goal in the second half for a 2-1 win.

Jorge Perez put the Raiders up 1-0 with 12 minutes to play in the first half on a goal off a rebound, but Marcos Leon scored the equalizer for San Luis with 1:30 left in the half on an assist from Ricardo Ruiz.

Ruiz later gave the Sidewinders the game-winner with 17 minutes remaining. Erik Luzanilla was credited with the assist.

"It was a fairly easy game for us the first time we played, and I tried to tell them it's not going to happen again. Things don't go the same way they do the first time," San Luis coach Tim Conroy said. "Once Cibola scored that first goal it was pretty much a dogfight after that."

Cibola (3-5 AIA), playing the first of four games in four days this week because of last week's rainouts, visits Kofa today.
