ON DECK: First Suns game

For those of you keeping score at home, that's TWO On Decks in a row from yours truly.

That's two days you get to see my beautiful mug on your D2 page while you eat your breakfast. If that's not something to be thankful for, I don't know what is. Just please be gentle when you're lining the birdcage with me.

I attended my first Phoenix Suns game over the holiday. It was my first NBA game since about 2006.

Maybe it's because I didn't have a dog in the fight, but it really wasn't a very fun experience. The game should have been exciting, the Suns came behind from a huge deficit to win in overtime, but I couldn't have been happier when it ended.

The constant fouls, the never-ending timeouts, it seemed like they never played for more than two minutes at a time. It just seemed like one team slowly outscored the other over a period of three hours.

Other sports have this problem, like the NFL, and that's why ticket sales are down. Keep the game moving.
