Returning starters: Brooke Crist, sr., C; Chelsea Wallace, sr., F; Summer Ehrig, soph., PG; Vivian Zavala, jr, F
Key newcomers: Destiny Dilworth, soph., F
Player to watch: Zavala led the team in scoring last year but has been drawing a lot of double teams in summer play and scrimmages.
Gila Ridge coach David Schultz's comments: "The kids are working hard on both ends of the floor, and everybody wants to contribute."
The lowdown: Crist averaged almost five blocks a game in region and reached double digits twice. Schultz said the team's work ethic has really come along and expects Ehrig, Crist and Zavala to lead a charge toward the top of the region.
