Gila Ridges edges Kofa

The Gila Ridge boys basketball team edged Cibola 35-32 on Tuesday.

The Hawks (11-13 overall, 5-4 Gila Valley Region) clung onto their nine-point halftime lead just enough to top the Raiders three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Cibola came out in the second half with open looks at the bucket, but missed seven good shots, coach Tim Keller said. Garrett Firestone scored eight points to lead the Raiders.

Mike Pancrazi led the Hawks with 12 points and nine rebounds. Dave Espinoza and Ivan Jimenez had late 3-pointers to keep the Hawks in front.

Gila Ridge plays host to San Luis on Friday.
