Gila Ridge come back against Yuma High
The Gila Ridge boys basketball team may have trailed early, but the Hawks wound up putting a 75-49 beating on Yuma on Tuesday.
The Hawks responded to an 11-point first quarter effort by scoring 24 in the second as every Gila Ridge player that touched the court scored in the eventual blowout.
Trailing by four at the end of first quarter the Hawks went to a press that forced turnovers and turned their fortunes. Gila Ridge ended with 13 steals and went 21-for-32 at the free-throw line.
Josh Grover and Ivan Jimenez led the Hawks with 16 points each and Mike Pancrazi added 12.
Gila Ridge (13-13 overall, 5-4 GVR) plays host to Lake Havasu on Friday.
