Cibola boys sweep Havasu

The Cibola boys' swimming team took first place in every event against Lake Havasu to beat the Knights 119-46 on the road. Cibola's girls team lost to Havasu 110-60.

George Gould took first place in the 500-meter backstroke, finishing at 6 minutes, 26 seconds, and 100 back (1:19.44) to lead the Raiders. Cibola's Jake Stifler took first in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:21.77) and Caleb McClure won the 200-meter individual medley (2:58.56).

On the girls' side, Jesse Kaba paced the team with her victory in the 200 IM, clocking 2:50.60.

"We're competing in a much smaller pool," Cibola coach Richard McClure said. "The scores are a little lopsided now, but we'll do much better at regionals."
