Hawks top Sidewinders
A tie game after six quickly got out of hand for Gila Ridge in a 10-6 loss to San Luis on Friday.
The Sidewinders scored eight runs in the top of the seventh, although Gila Ridge did bring the tying run to the plate in its half of the seventh.
Lance McLaren had three hits for the Hawks and Steve Garcia added two.
YC routs Parker
Yuma Catholic scored all its runs in the first three innings of a 16-2 home win over Parker.
Matt Koppinger ran his record to 3-0 with the win, pitching all five innings, striking out five and allowing four hits and two runs, one earned. He also went 2-for-2 and drove home two runs. Josh Evans added two hits and an RBI for the Shamrocks (10-1), while Wade McBride and Julian Higuera had two hits. Higuera and Gerald Robles each had three RBIs.
