Local Glance: San Pasqual baseball sets school record for wins
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Win 16 was a 13-2 victory over Joseph City, number 17 came in a 15-2 destruction of Many Farms. At the end of Friday's two games of the Morenci tourney, San Pasqual set a school record for wins in a season at 17-4.
Pitching and hitting combined for the two wins that set up a third-place game today. Josh Amador pitched five innings, allowed four hits but zero earned runs against Joseph CIty. Justin McDade had three hits.
Victor Robles was the winning pitcher against Many Farms allowing five hits, one walk and no earned runs. The offense scored three in the first, eight in the second and four in the third in three innings of play.

ANTELOPE OUTRUNS TONOPAH
Antelope's baseball team outscored Tonopah Valley 10-6 on the strength of 12 hits.
The Rams (6-15) were led by Chance Mixon going 2-for-4 and driving in three runs, while winning pitcher Joe FinFrock pitched five strong innings racking up seven strike outs.
SHAMROCKS WIN IN EXTRA INNINGS
Yuma Catholic battled Baboquivari in a back and forth game that ended 9-7 in the eighth inning. The Shamrocks (21-5, 8-1 5A Gila Valley) scored three in the sixth inning to tak a 7-6 lead but Baboquivari tied it in the seventh. Matt Inman hit his second home run of the day, a two-run shot that put the Shamrocks up for good in the eighth.

KOFA UNCHALLENGED IN WIN
Kofa's softball team focused on swinging at strikes and getting through the game in a 19-0 victory over San Luis.
San Luis brought up a junior varsity pitcher which made it hard for Kofa to get quality looks as they get ready for the state tournament.
SWEEP PUTS CIBOLA IN SECOND
Seventeen hits in the first game was a good omen for Cibola's softball team as many hitters caught fire to sweep Casa Grande 17-4 and 7-2.
In the first inning, Ariel Olea hit a home run, Amber Beebe hit a two run RBI triple, and Ashley Beebe hit a double that brought two runs in. Other extra-base hits included a triple in the second for Jackie Newborn and Bailey Ethington hit a double in the fifth.
Cibola's (16-12, 8-3 5A Gila Valley) sweep of Casa Grande put it in second place but Kofa beat Cibola twice to put them on the top of the conference.
ANTELOPE POUNDS TONOPAH
The Rams drubbed the Warriors 17-7 to run their 2A West Region record to 6-5 and 9-12 overall. Antelope at fourth place in the region is in line to make the playoffs.
Jessica Rodriguez, Mary Tillou and Christina Figueroa all had went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
