Kings edge Sidewinders in five
After falling back 1-2 Kofa forced a Game 5 and defeated San Luis on the road 25-16, 22-25, 22-25, 25-14, 15-7 on Wednesday.
Miranda Brookhart led the Kings with 18 and added 25 digs. Jacky Fuentes had 15 kills and Maggie Galvan had 39 assists for Kofa (6-3).
Rebecca Valenzuela had 14 kills and Gisel Duarte had 11 kills for the Sidewinders (3-4).
Kofa’s next match is at Cibola on Tuesday and San Luis is back in action today when the Sidewinders play host to Cibola.

Sidewinders take dual meet
The San Luis boys and girls cross country teams defeated Yuma High in a dual meet at West Wetlands on Wednesday.
The Sidewinders won the boys meet with a score of 38, the Criminals posted a 41. Yuma High’s Rodolfo Alvarado won the 5,000-meter race with a time of 18:51. San Luis’ Manuel Alfaro took second with a time of 19:04.
The San Luis girls won with a score of 15 to Yuma High’s 50 because Yuma didn’t have enough runners to field a full team. San Luis runners took first, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh.
Ayleen Elizalde won the race with a time of 27:25 for the Sidewinders.
