Matadors shut out Paradise Valley
Oscar Hernandez recorded his third straight shutout in goal as the Arizona Western soccer team topped Paradise Valley 1-0 at Tuesday at Reach 11 Sports Complex in Paradise Valley.
Mario Soto scored in the 20th minute for the only goal the Matadors (4-1 overall and Arizona Community College Athletic Association) would need.
“Paradise Valley was clearly better than us for a large part of the game,” coach Kenny Dale said. “Our young players need to focus on the process more than the result.”
Hernandez only had to deflect four shots by the Pumas (2-2 overall and ACCAC).
