AWC wins last two
Comments 0 | Recommend 0THATCHER - Arizona Western wrapped up its season with two wins at Eastern Arizona, winning 1-0 then shifting gears for a 17-4 victory.
The Matadors (30-24, 21-17 ACCAC) scored in the first inning and played strong defense behind winning pitcher Todd Sepulveda for the one-run victory.
"We played solid defense all day to keep us in the game," assistant coach Alan Manifold said. "Sepulveda also did a great job on the hill."
AWC scored 17 runs on 15 hits in the second game to run up the score. Five Matadors hit a double and Stephen Barbosa knocked out two.
