Holscher leads Greater Yuma Women's Open

Debbie Holscher shot an 83 Monday at Mesa del Sol Golf Course to take a one-shot lead after the first day of play in the Greater Yuma Women's Open Champion- ship.
Donna Lalonde is one stroke back at 84, and Connie Chapman sits in third place at 86 heading into today's final round at Desert Hills. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
First-round closest to the pin winners were Sheila Donnelley (hole No. 5), Karen Hitchins (No. 8), Denise Heblich (No. 13) and Chapman (No. 17). Fifty-one players are in the field.
