Kings catch fire late to hold off Sidewinders
Kofa connected on 10 3-pointers to turn a seven-point game at halftime into a 67-42 win Tuesday at San Luis.
Simon Corea had four 3s and finished with 20 points for the Kings (8-3 AIA, 5-0 GVR). Cesar Valenzuela scored 12 points and Michael Medina added 10.
"We struggled against their zone in the first half and made some adjustments to find some open looks in the second half, and our shooters got hot," Kofa coach Danilo Montiali said.
Orlando Lopez led the Sidewinders with 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, with Mark Ochoa and Jose Hernandez contributing 10 points each.
San Luis (1-3 GVR) is home for a game against Cibola on Thursday.
