YC loses in first round on PKs
The Yuma Catholic boys soccer team lost 1-0 on penalty kicks to Fountain Hills Tuesday in the first round of the playoffs.
YC missed the first three penalty kicks and Fountain Hills connected on two of them after a scoreless regulation overtime. Each team connected in the fourth PK round, but it was enough for Foutnain Hills to take the win and advance to the second round.
"If I had to do it all over again, I would use the same players to take those kicks," coach Ralph Evans said. "The odds on those three missing it were a million to one. I guess they kicked 999,999 times before tonight. It was just uncharacteristic of those boys."
