’Rocks sweep Southwest

Yuma Catholic swept a doubleheader against El Centro-Southwest on Saturday to improve to 8-4, 4-1 AIA.

The Shamrocks won the first contest 10-6 behind a complete-game effort from Brendon Evans, who also went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Bobby Lee also went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI while Wade McBride went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

McBride earned the complete-game win in the nightcap, striking out nine for a 5-3 victory. Rocky Rutherford highlighted the offense by going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Cibola takes two from Lake Havasu

The Raiders traveled to Lake Havasu and claimed two victories on Friday.

Christian Marquez earned the victory in the early game, a 6-3 win. Oscar Elizarraras was the winning pitcher for Game 2, a 10-2 blowout.
