Scorps outslug Cracker Cats
Comments 0 | Recommend 0EDMONTON, Alberta - A day after the Yuma Scorpions couldn't get a timely hit, it seemed they couldn't get anything but on Friday. The first Yuma three hitters each went 3-for-5 as the Scorpions scored three in the top of the ninth for a 10-7 win against the Edmonton Cracker Cats.
Rich Janeway, Henry Claderon and A.J Valentine - in addition to their nine hits - scored seven runs in the contest, with Janeway blasting the Scorps' only homer.
Jeremy Cleveland and Ryan Barba added two hits each for Yuma as the Scorps pounded out 15 in the contest and benefited from four Cracker Cat errors.
James Garcia got the win in 12/3 scoreless, hitless innings. Jorge Perez started for Yuma, going six and allowing six runs, three earned, and struck out seven.
