The 2009 Caribbean Series - Feb. 1 to 7 in Mexicali, B.C. - is approaching fast and tickets to watch the best professional baseball teams from four Latin American countries may not be around for long.
 
“Tickets are still available, but we anticipate they will sell out right before the series starts, so we encourage fans to get theirs as soon as possible,” said Elenny Lopez, spokeswoman for the committee.
 
"To purchase tickets Yuma residents can do so by going to the Ticketmaster  Web page (Mexico). If you would like to visit the well known 'Aguilas' team home stadium, you can come to our local ticket office in Mexicali located on Calzada Aviación, in the Baja California capital’s Fraccionamiento (subdivision) Las Fuentes and take a look at the venue where the competition between Venezuela, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico will take place," said Lopez.
 
She explained tickets will be available only in the form of a booklet - similar to an I.D. badge - which includes entry into all 12 games in the series. Tickets to individual games will not be available.
 
Series prices are 1,500 MXN (Mexican pesos, about $111.15  U.S.) for general admission, 3,000 MXN (about $222.32 U.S.) for the left and right field boxes and 4,000 MXN (about $296.43 U.S.) in the Reserved section seats.
 
Fans may choose seats in the Infield or Left Field Lower Boxes, and Field Reserved for a cost of  4,800 MXN (about $355.86  U.S.) and 6,000 MXN (about $444.83 U.S.) respectively, for the six days of action.
 
The 17,0000-seat stadium is getting some finishing touches, after many improvements made in the playing area and the stands, where the baseball fans will witness the historic event that Mexico has won five times.
 
She concluded by saying that they recently finished fine tuning their security program for the event.
