Raiders end season with win

Carlos Dominguez scored with 12 minutes left off an assist by Miguel Ramirez to give the Cibola boys soccer team a 2-1 win over Yuma at home on Thursday.

The Raiders got their first goal 30 minutes into the first half from Miguel Corral off a throw-in from Jorge Perez. Yuma tied the game a minute into the second half.

With the win the Raiders end the season 5-7 overall, 5-5 in Gila Valley Region play.

Raiders win GVR crown

Cibola ended GVR play with a 7-0 win over Yuma on Thursday to win the region crown.

Andrea Bedoya and Rebecca Wendt scored two goals for the Raiders (10-1 overall, 9-1 GVR).

The Raiders now wait to find out if they will host or travel for their first-round playoff game.

Hawks end year with win

Gila Ridge defeated Lake Havasu 4-1 at home on Thursday.

Sheridan Smith had two goals and Sylvia Vasquez and Nadia Babbitt each had a goal for the Hawks.

Kristia Sanford had two assists in the second half.

The Hawks end the season 6-7.
