ON DECK: College Football finally has its playoff
College football fans, rejoice!
The day has finally come where we will see a playoff system at the college level.
It'll be a four-team playoff, chosen by members of a playoff selection committee, in which the final two will get to play in the national championship game.
Of course, the new system will not be perfect. It will have its flaws. But anything has to be better than a system based on polls and computer standings that make my brain hurt oh so much.
It's not permanent, but it's a start.
The system will be in place until 2025 and that's plenty of time to get all the kinks worked out.
The new system will not start until 2014, however. So yes, we will have to suffer through one more year of the BCS.
In my opinion, it's worth it. We've waited this long, right?
