Tanya Clark continues college basketball career
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Former Arizona Western College women's college basketball forward Tanya Clark signed a letter of intent to play for Dixie State College in Utah.
Clark averaged 7.5 rebounds per game, good for ninth best in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference. Her 76.9 percent free-throw percentage was fourth-best in the conference.
"Tanya's a steal for a four-year program because of the maturity, athleticism and versatility she brings to any basketball program at any level," AWC coach Patrick Cunningham said. "She's really improved her perimeter game and will continue to improve..."
Clark heads to a Rebel program that just finished its second year at playing at the NCAA Division II level, going 16-11 last season as a member of the Pacific West Conference.
"The thing we love most about Tanya is how competitive she is and her leadership both on and off the court," Dixie State head coach Angela Kristensen said. "She is the epitome of what a student-athlete should represent and we could not be more excited to sign a player of her caliber."
