ON DECK: Hot Stove League

Ah, the Hot Stove League is again upon us.

Finally we will hear rumor after rumor of trades and signings that will never happen. You get to wake up every morning with a tidbit here, a tidbit there and a tidbit everywhere about your favorite baseball team that will never come true.

It's like Christmas morning every day! Except instead of presents and cocoa you are met will nothing but lies.

I'm not saying these fabulous reporters are lying. I believe that whoever told them that the Phillies are interested in A-Rod actually did in fact tell them that. And what do I want them to do, not report it?

I don't know, this is where I just get frustrated. I'll read “Team X is interested in Player Y.”

OK, of course they are. I'm sure Player Y is great. I'm sure he hits the ball real far and isn't too overweight.

I guess all this pent up anger just stems from the fact that there's no baseball, and there won't be any for a long, long time. And this is the stuff we get instead.
