Yuma Velocity place third in Prescott tourney

The Yuma Velocity 14-U softball team finished third at a Best of the West Tournament in Prescott last weekend. Jackie Pierson and Isabel Villalobos each pitched a shutout game, and Madison Tracy hit a two-run home run as the Velocity went 6-3 and outscored their opponents 63-36.
"A big team effort by everyone," Velocity coach William Tracy said. "Some teams thought they had easy wins against us, but our young ladies proved them otherwise."
