LOCAL GLANCE (March 15): Prep Baseball, Prep Tennis, Horse Shoes
San Pasqual's pitchers combined for 19 strikeouts as the Warriors won the first two games of their home tournament Friday.
Andrew Lomaintewa struck out 10 in six innings in a 7-6 win over Vincent Memorial, then Andrew Limones struck out nine in a 14-2 win over West Shores in five innings.
In the first game, Tommy Gonzalez had a walkoff single, scoring Limones. Paul Stauffer had two hits. Against West Shores, Adolpho Cigala had a pair of hits.
The Warriors will play Borrego Springs twice today — once in the final pool play game at 10 a.m., then in the championship game, which is slated to begin at 4 p.m.

Hawks top Criminals
Irving Lopez had three hits in Gila Ridge's 9-1 win over Yuma High on Friday.
Emilio Griego pitched five innings and allowed one run in the win.
PREP GIRLS TENNIS
Gila Ridge shuts out Antelope
Gila Ridge's No. 1 player Katlyn Jones led off the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win to lead the Hawks to a 9-0 win over Antelope Thursday.
Alice Fiddler was the only Gila Ridge player to lose a set in match, but still won 7-6, 4-7, 6-1.
Jones, Taylor McKenna, Alexis Van Gelder and Breanna Sparks all won at least one of their sets 6-0.
HORSESHOES
Tournament slated for today
The Yuma Horseshoes Pitching Association will hold its Windup Tournament today at Kennedy Park.
Sign-in is at 9:30 a.m., with the tournament running from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Registration is $20, with all of the money going to the top three finishers. Only sanctioned players may compete.
