Worthington stellar for Roadrunners

Kent Worthington picked up another win for the Arizona Roadrunners.
Worthington bounced back from a shaky first inning to lead the Roadrunners to an 8-3 win over Long Beach on Friday.
The Roadrunners found themselves in a 0-2 hole after the first inning due to Worthington gave up a lead off walk and a double to start the game. The Armada followed that up with an RBI single from Ryoma Jige to take the lead.
Worthington returned to the mound for the Roadrunners and seemed to have found his groove. He pitched six more innings for the complete game, striking out five and giving up only one walk and two hits.
The Roadrunners committed three errors in the game, but the stellar pitching performance from Worthington was enough to pull them through.
In other AWL action, Team Canada topped San Diego 8-3 and Yuma fell to Calexico 3-0. Blythe edged out Saskatchewan 7-6, while San Luis blanked Somerton 11-0.
