Yuma wins for third time in four games

The Scorpions scored on a wild pitch in the top of ninth that proved to be the difference in a 5-4 win at Chico Saturday night.

Carlos Arroyo, who earlier hit a home run, singled and went to second on a sacrifice by Carlos Villalobos and to third on a sacrifice by Reynaldo Rodriguez. Andrew Alvarado (0-3) uncorked a wild pitch with Ismael Castro at the plate, allowing Arroyo to score for the third time in his 3-for-4 performance.

Emiliano Fruto pitched the ninth for his 10th save for the Scorpions (5-9, 15-36) and preserved the win for Yasid Salazar (4-5), who pitched 41/3 innings of one-run, one-hit ball in relief of Reynaldo Correal.

Yuma outhit Chico 12-8 and had two hits each from Villalobos and Diover Avila.

Chico (22-26, 3-7) led 3-1 after one, but Yuma tied it with two in the fifth. The teams traded runs in the seventh.
