A fire consumed a tractor trailer carrying haystacks on Interstate 8 just east of Telegraph Pass Wednesday afternoon. Eastbound lanes of I-8 were still closed as of 5:15 p.m. as firefighters continued to put out hot spots. LOANED VIDEO/RURAL METRO
A wildfire broke out Wednesday afternoon along the Colorado River just west of Mittry Lake. According to Rural Metro firefighters, on behalf of BLM, the fire has already burned at least 600 acres and is being fueled by windy weather.

An alfalfa stack catches fire near County 14th St. and Avenue 3E on Wednesday afternoon sending plumes of smoke into the sky. Firefighters from Rural/Metro were on scene.

Rural/Metro Fire Dept responded to a house fire in the 3500 block of east Castano Lane at 1:30 this afternoon. One resident was across the street when the fire broke out and a family pet was lost in the blaze.
