Approximately 88 members of the Harrier squadron that lost its commanding officer and the aviation support unit that lost one of it’s fellow Marines to an insurgent attack on their base in Afghanistan returned to friends and family in Yuma Thursday.
Enthusiastic family members waited cheerfully as Yuma-based Marines with Marine Attack Squadron 214 returned to MCAS Yuma following a seven-month deployment with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf.
