Nude cell phone images of minor leads to charges

Jonathon Emanuel Pereda, was charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for having fully nude images of a 15-year-old girl on his cell phone. He was charged with multiple felony charges related to drugs and weapons earlier this week.

Regina Maria Garcia was charged with one felony count of hindering prosecution Thursday for the help she gave murder suspect Jonathon Roger Ochoa, who had been wanted in the April 18 bludgeoning death of 33-year-old Kendal Smith.

Jonathan Emmanuel Pereda appeared in Yuma Justice Court Tuesday afternoon. A manhunt was conducted after Pereda escaped from a Sheriff's deputies on Nov. 18.
